While I’m not a pet person myself, I still can’t believe someone was saying that to me. I mean, I don’t even own a dog or cat. I’m all for taking care of pets, but I sure as hell wouldn’t say, “I’m taking my pet with me because I’m going to change the world.” I’m not a pet person.

I think it’s more important to try to do a little bit of something productive. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get much done in your life, and it won’t hurt to try to meditate and learn something about yourself, but I think it’s good to start off with something productive, like a journal, to help remind yourself where you are, how you are, and when you’re ready to start again.
Ive often wondered if it would be easier to adopt a pet rather than a pet. They are a lot easier to pick out and train, and its a lot easier to teach them the things they need to know. The downside to that is that the pet might get bored if you keep doing the same thing over and over. For example, my dog has been a great companion since we got him, but he will soon be going back to the dog park because the dog park is always full.
