Some of the best players available are the ones that have not been recruited to the best conferences.
Thats because Georgia Tech is a school that recruits from across the board. Thats really the whole point. If youre not a star recruit there, youre not going to be recruited anywhere else. To be a star recruit you have to be on the national radar. The only way to do that is to be invited to the best conferences. Thats exactly what Georgia Tech is doing with their recruiting.
The school just signed a big deal to get an elite freshman, center, and power forward to come in and play. Theyve already picked up three players who are expected to be star recruits in the next couple of years. In fact, at the moment Georgia Tech is the third best team in the ACC, right behind Louisville and Duke.
The Georgia Tech guys are also the best in the nation at running the high-scoring offense. Their point guard, D.J. Richardson, is the third-leading scorer in the conference. They also have a slew of freshman players ready to step up. It’s not just the talent, it’s the effort and confidence they have.
The Georgia Tech team was voted to the SEC All-Freshman team last year, so there’s no reason to believe they won’t be doing the same this year. The team has a chance to make it back into the NCAA tournament, if they can repeat their performance of last year, and become the very best in the nation.

He has already recruited two players who have already committed to Georgia Tech.
Mackey’s recruiting staff also includes former Mississippi State coach and current Georgia Tech assistant, Greg McDermott. McDermott is a former high school coach in Macon, Georgia.
He’s a very intelligent guy, Mackey. He’s also a very cool guy, and he looks like he could go pro at some point. He has a lot to prove, and he doesn’t take it well.
