northeast metro tech

We moved to the northeast metro from the west coast, and this has been one of the biggest reasons we have stuck around. There are so many amazing tech spaces in the northeast metro, from great restaurants and coffee shops to cool bookstores and technology shops.

The Northeast Metro has lots of great tech spaces as well, including the city’s only tech mall. But I don’t think it’s quite as good as the one in Columbus, Ohio, because in that one the developers have figured out how to charge the electricity for the mall without having to actually build a power plant. They have a solar panel system that they hook up to power the mall and the lights stay on all day.

And the mall isn’t exactly the most impressive of tech spaces, either. But it is impressive enough to be a new tech center. It was funded through a $2.1M dollar grant from the Ohio Economic Development Corp. and is run by a company called Geeks for Geeks. It has a good selection of computers for the average person to use for various projects, including a big one for the kids.

Well, I will admit, I didn’t find the mall itself to be that impressive. I think I went in there to check out the power plant. But I was also there looking for the next big thing to build in the northeast. It would have been a nice place with a full kitchen and free WiFi, but I didn’t see the need for that.

Apparently the most exciting thing to come out of the northeast in the last year or so has been the development of a technology that allows you to do things like remotely install a computer in your house. I can do everything I need to do from my phone or laptop, which is awesome. The technology is called “remote access,” and it allows you to make calls and send messages from anywhere. You can even talk to old people who can’t talk to you, and it’s actually pretty cool.

I know. I got in trouble for having it installed in my home. The company that develops the technology is called ConnectOne, and I was on the phone with one of their reps who assured me that the installation process (which I was very excited about) would take only 24 hours, and that it would be completely safe. Turns out, they’re telling people that it’s not safe, and not just any phone calls are safe, but calls to the local police department.

What I don’t understand is why the police don’t know about this. It makes perfect sense to me that they would think that someone would call 911 to report a suspicious phone call (something that a person who is not a suspect will call to report), but I have no idea why anyone would be calling to report that they were seeing a suspicious person, especially when there are so many police officers in the area.

Yes, police stations are all over metro now. I’m sure there are plenty of phone calls that we’ll never hear from an officer. I just can’t get over how many people are upset by the way people are acting. This isnt one of those times where a person called 911 to report that they were being followed or something (maybe a dog bit them?) because they did not want to be followed. They didn’t go out looking for a dog and got bit.

In general, police officers are generally concerned about the safety of their own community and the general public. We all know that there are going to be some very bad things going on downtown due to the number of police officers in the area, so it’s best to be careful of what you say or do if you have a gun. If you are on duty, ask a police officer for directions before you go somewhere, because they are not always very honest.

You can also get bitten by a police officer. This happened to one of our very own, John, during a police chase. The officer was trying to make a U-turn to go back to the station and came out on a high-speed chase. John could have taken the officer out if he had wanted to but, because he was a cop, he went to get his phone and dialed 911.
