A study conducted in 2011 showed that pet owners were more likely to become apartment dwellers. Some of the reasons that may contribute to this are the fact that they have more time to spend with their pets and therefore want to live in apartments for a longer period. Another reason for the increase is that the pet-friendly apartments are more affordable, so more people are choosing to live in them.
Yes, you should take your dog or cat with you on the plane to Portland. Pet owners are more likely to rent apartments with space for dogs and cats and in case they decide to have children they are more likely to live near a park and get exercise as a result. The fact of the matter is that the pet-friendly apartments are less likely to have security issues, too. Also, because many people are moving to apartments in Portland, there are more pet-friendly landlords.
Even if a pet-friendly apartment isn’t the perfect choice, it’s still a great way to reduce stress and time spent in airports. In my own apartment, I have two cats, a dog, and a rabbit. The rabbit is a bit of an anomaly because I have to leave her outside for the occasional week when we’re in Portland. We only leave her inside when we go out for dinner or a movie.
Its not clear how the pet-friendly rules of landlords work, but I don’t want to be a pet-friendly landlord. I dont want my landlord to have to think about why I have two cats and a dog and would like to get rid of those animals. I’d rather be a landlord who does not make pet-friendly decisions. So when you talk to a landlord, ask them to make a pet friendly decision and make it so.
I don’t want my landlord to have to think about why I have two cats and a dog and would like to get rid of those animals.
I hope you all have a nice day.
I think there’s a lot of overlap between what should be considered a pet friendly apartment and a pet friendly home. I think that if your landlord or any other landlord wants to make pet friendly decisions, it should be up to them to do so. So if someone wants to live in a pet-friendly apartment, but they’re also a pet-friendly landlord, it should be up to them to make that decision.
I was recently contacted by a prospective tenant who expressed a desire to live in a pet friendly apartment, but it appears that her landlord is not exactly pet-friendly either. In fact, he’s made it abundantly clear through his recent posts that he doesn’t want pets. The reason I bring this up is because of the potential for conflict if this tenant decides to move into a pet-friendly apartment.
My question is should you make your new apartment pet-friendly? I’ve personally seen several pet-friendly apartments in Portland, and I think the answer is no. I think every landlord should be able to make any decision they feel is best for their community.
I can understand the concern. A lot of people who are pet-friendly apartment dwellers have pets – but some of those pets are pets that are considered “harmful to others.” So if you have a pet that is not considered “harmful” to others, the pet owners will be upset when you kick the dog or cat out.
