What started out as a simple, easy way to share my love for food, has evolved into a more involved, intentional, and thoughtful way to share my love for food.
I started siohvaughn back in 2006, and my life has only gotten more interesting since then. While I originally had a goal of making a website where you could order food and have it delivered right to your front door, I also wanted to have a community that would allow me to post recipes, and interact with other siohvaughn users around the world.
Because I’ve been running a site where you can order food, I was pretty intentional in building a community for people who love food. At the time, I had just decided to start a site because I was tired of living in my apartment, which was my “home” and I wanted a place to share my food recipes and stories. I started out with a small group of users who wanted to share recipes, but I quickly became overwhelmed by the sheer amount of requests I got for recipes.
The thing that made me realize that I was running out of room was that I had so many requests, people were requesting more than I could possibly cook, and I had to make a decision between making the site easier to use or adding more recipes, so I decided to add more recipes. The recipes I added in, they are still limited, but they provide you with a lot of options for how to prepare your own foods.
The reason for this is the same reason I’m making the site easier to use: I wanted to keep the recipes as simple as possible. The reason for making them the simple way is that this isn’t a cooking site, as many of the recipes are meant to be made ahead of time.
The two things I have to make clear here is that Im not saying that you should never add recipes for your own personal use. However, the recipes Im adding are for recipes you intend to cook. The ones I added, you can mix and match, or stick with the ones I have already. It takes a little bit of time to figure out the recipes but it is worth it.
I know there seems to be a bit of a divide between those who like to cook and those who dont. Personally, I like to cook more than I like to browse recipes. However, I feel like the majority of people who dont like cooking, and want to take that time to cook are the same ones who dont like cooking because they have no time to cook. One of my favorite recipes is made with my sister, which she says is the best one she ever made.
This recipe is a little bit of a hybrid of two of my favorite things: my favorite pasta dish, lasagna, and a pasta dish that I like to make. The recipe is all about spaghetti with mushrooms, bacon, and a little bit of something else. It calls for a few other ingredients, but it’s really about the spaghetti flavor. A lot of the recipes in this blog post are from the first few years of my cooking life, but I’ve recently been cooking a lot more. This one is a personal favorite of mine, but a few of my other favorites have been made with the same pasta that I was making this recipe with.
