I wanted to create a list of the best 425 businesses around the world. I was inspired by my experience with Foursquare and their lists, but also because it’s an interesting topic that people might not know about or be familiar with.
The first company on this list is. This company has some fascinating stories behind them such as how they started out making wire for fences in 1869 before realizing that these same wires could make something called barbed-wire which made fencing more secure (which ended up being really important when cowboys were roaming). In 1974 this company expanded into plastics manufacturing where they created polyvinyl chloride plastic which helped revolutionize things like medical devices, car windows, and even soft drink bottles .
The second company on the list is. This company has a very interesting story of how they started and why their name makes so much sense. The founder, Jim Patterson, was born with Cerebral Palsy which meant he couldn’t work in his family’s machine shop because it required too much physical labor and focus to operate successfully. What he could do though? He loved tinkering around with cars and hot rods in high school – something that most students weren’t interested in at all due to its lack of popularity among teenagers like auto racing or drag races (heck, even kids today aren’t into these things). In 1976 this guy opened up his own garage where people would bring him old vehicles for repairs but then he would buy them to resell for a profit.
