There are so many great benefits from eating bone broth like increased energy, clear thinking, and mental focus. However, there are a few things that the bone broth community has to note and add to the mix. First, the bone broth is typically cooked in a water bath to increase the health benefits and decrease the risk of gastrointestinal upset.
Second, people are generally not supposed to boil their favorite food in order to make it broth. However, the bone broth community is a pretty large (and vocal) one, and they often disagree with the advice. So this year, they decided to boil the bone broth in order to avoid the health risks and increase the benefits.
I’m not sure if this is a good idea, but I think the community is saying this because they’re not sure that boil-ing our favorite food is a good idea. It’s definitely something I’d suggest doing, but I wouldn’t suggest boiling it ourselves.
Personally I think boiling our favorite foods in order to increase our fiber content is just asking for trouble, especially if you’re trying to get a better fiber content. I think the broth is much simpler to make, but you cant boil it in order to gain more fiber content. I know that for all the folks who say they dont want to lose the taste, thats just not true.
I don’t think boiling my favorite foods is going to cause me to gain more fiber, but I do think boiling my favorite foods in order to make them taste better is. I think I would like to try it.
True story. I started making bone broth recently, and I think I’m about half way through the recipe. I just dont want to say that I didnt make the broth because I did, but I did make it way to long so I have no idea how much I added. I think I added more salt than I should have, but I dont know if thats the biggest problem.
The big problem with bone broth is it can go to waste, so you want to make it at least twice as long as it needs to be. Most recipes call for a mix of spices, but I think I was just using too many, so I’m going to add some to try to make the broth last longer. I added dried chiles and garlic and dried onions.
When it comes to bones, I think I need to work on my diet. I used to eat a lot of it, but I seem to have lost the desire. I am not a fan of the taste and often feel like I have to eat it quickly, even though I’ve never liked it. The recipe I found called for dried prunes, so I will probably try that next time.
This one didn’t call for dried prunes, but I thought I’d try it anyway because I have a whole jar of dried prunes in my pantry.
I also thought about trying to add some more dried onions to the bone broth, and perhaps even some dried chiles. Maybe next time.
