In the summertime, I try to keep my dog as comfortable as possible by keeping her on a comfortable bed, in a crate, or even in the back of my car. But sometimes it’s difficult to stay focused on something as important as a pet. In the summertime, this is especially so. The heat takes us out of our heads, and we often forget to take the dogs for a walk or just enjoy a quick bite at the park.
When my dog gets overheated, I try to be as diligent as possible, but I’m still not always successful. Sometimes I end up taking her to the park for a few minutes while I distract myself and get some air or just clear my head. I’ve gotten to the point where I let the dog have a little more freedom around the house than I normally should. I just try and give her as much time as I can to do what she needs to do.
For the average dog, the most important thing she needs to do in a home is to eat. Thats the most important thing. If I remember to give her a little bit of space, she will be fine. Dogs are very adaptable, and when they have a little bit of space to breathe, they have plenty of space to do what they need to do. Dogs are just like people. They need to get out and do things too.
Dogs need space. As the above statement implies, they have plenty of space to do what they need to do. So what can we learn from this? Well, in my own home we now have a “dog-free zone”. This is where we put our dogs, and where they can do what they need to do without my having to get up and move them to the hallway.
The truth is, most of us live in houses with too much space to do what we need to do. Some of us have to move to different areas of a house every few months. We all have to work to get by, so it’s important to make sure that our homes are as pet friendly as possible.
The pet-free zone is a great idea, and I can see that it provides a lot of benefits. For one, it is the only way to take our dogs to the bathroom without having to put them in a different room. Also, having to walk the dogs across the lawn means that they have to go through the pet-free zone. I can’t imagine that the dogs would complain if they had to go through the pet-free zone every time they had to go to the bathroom.
For pet-less people, having a dog that can come to you, walk on leash and bark at you to alert you to the presence of a dog, is the best we’ve seen so far. A dog owner’s biggest challenge is to make sure that the dog is not a nuisance and that the pet-less person is not in any danger.
A dog that can walk on a leash and bark at you is a dog that can be a bit of a nuisance, and it is the responsibility of both parties to ensure they are not in danger. As long as the dog is not a nuisance (and yes, I am including people that are allergic to dogs on this list) they will be safe from harm.
I want to reiterate that the dog is not the responsibility of the pet-less person. The pet-less person has to be responsible for the dog and the dog owner must be responsible for the person. The pet-less person will need to take the dog in and keep it from the dog owner. In this way, your pet is the owner of a dog. This is not a dog eating dog situation.
The dog is not responsible for the person. The dog owner is responsible for the dog. The pet-less person is responsible for the pet. The dog is responsible for the dog owner. The pet-less person is responsible for the pet. As long as the dog is not a nuisance and yes, I am including people that are allergic to dogs on this list they will be safe from harm.
