Yes, we all have them. Yes, we all have them. As you know I love tech, but I’m not a big fan of it in the bedroom. I like to read, and I have a computer in my bed that is all mine. But my bedroom is not a computer room. I can’t help but think that if it were, I could just use it as a “computer” room.
I can appreciate that. I like to be able to access the internet through a computer. But I also like to use my bedroom computer as a computer. I like to browse, learn, and do whatever I feel like.

As a person who feels like a nerd, the phrase “to browse, learn, and do whatever I feel like” is a familiar one that I’ve heard at least once a week since I started working at a tech company. The implication of this phrase is that we are allowed to choose our own goals, but that they are not necessarily aligned with ours. We are not allowed to “do whatever we feel like” while at the same time being a “nerd.
The goal of “doing whatever we feel like” is a common one in geek culture. It’s also the goal of many a geek persona, such as the person who just enjoys being around nerds, or the person who spends his nights doing research and his days coding. It is, I think, the goal of many other nerds as well. It’s the goal that is usually the most successful among nerds because it is what drives them to keep on going.
This is one of those goals that I think everyone understands, but many people do not. It’s the goal of many tech nerds, but many people fail to understand. They want to do something with computers that is cool, but do not know how to do it or how to get started.
While many people are working on projects that they believe are cool, I think they are missing a big part of what they are doing. They don’t realize that the goal of most nerds is to accomplish the goal of getting everything done with the least amount of effort. They are not interested in getting things done with a goal of “meeting a deadline”. That happens quite a bit on projects and they get very frustrated.
The goal of most of the internet projects that people think are cool is to get everything done in a few hours or minutes, but to be honest that is not a goal that most nerds have. It is a goal that is very often not even on their radar. This isn’t to say that nerds aren’t motivated; they are, but they are not the most motivated of humans.
The idea of a project that is supposed to be a fun thing to do, yet can be easily turned into a chore is rare. Most people think that the only reason that a project makes them happy is because they are taking part in it. The fact is that the most successful people in the world are the ones who are motivated by goals that they feel are important to them.
