What’s wrong with all these young people with their high-powered careers? This is just stupid. My money, my life, my career, my children, my future? All I ever want to do is take care of my family. When I’m off doing something, I never stop to think about anything else. I know so many college kids who are completely overwhelmed with all the demands on their time and energy.
Not everyone is overwhelmed with work, and not everyone is completely overwhelmed with everything. Take, for instance, the job market for software developers. I know the work has been hard to come by for a while now, but this is getting ridiculous. Many of these candidates are well into their twenties, the best years of their life, and they are still not making enough money to buy the food on their own. They are in debt and still working for people who don’t really care about them.
I know a lot of tech workers who are in a much better position than I am, especially in the field we call “software engineering.” The companies who hire them are making a hell of a lot more money than I do (or would in this economy), and they are in more responsible positions. They pay them a lot more than I am, and they are actually making a lot more money than I am.
Like the majority of tech workers, I have my own small tech company. I can pay my employees a decent amount of money. I dont have to worry about taking on debt. I can afford to pay my employees the same salary as they would get in the tech industry.
I’m not sure why the tech workers are making so much more money and not me since I am making more money than most of them. I guess the tech industry is actually pretty good compared to the rest of the economy, I mean the tech sector has tons of jobs for people with a high education.

I’m sure there are a lot of programmers who make a very good living that make less than a $20,000 per year. That’s a pretty mediocre wage. If they do work for a company that is an important part of the tech industry, they are probably making hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars.

They are the ones that have the money to pay the salaries they need, but they aren’t able to do so because there are other priorities that keep them from hiring.
