Of course, the term “self-awareness” has been used a lot in the past year as a term of abuse by atheists, as well as a lot of the self-proclaimed “spiritual” community. While I do believe that we all have some sort of self-awareness, I also believe that there really is no such thing as a self-awareness.
First, I am not saying that our minds are empty. I am saying that we have no idea what we’re thinking or what our reactions are. We’re guessing and we’re not really sure how to react, so we are often making poor judgments. But then again, maybe our actions are our best guesses, so we want to try to get out of harm’s way.
What I’m saying is we have no idea what people’s motives are. All we know is that they want us to be happy, so we should try to be happy, although we wouldn’t know how to achieve that. I feel like many people have some kind of self-awareness, but we don’t really understand how to use it at all.
I get that it can be hard to make sense of your own motivations. But if you can, I challenge you to do it. Because I’m sure you can.
He’s the kind of guy that thinks that because our actions are his, he can do anything. So our actions are all we should be attempting to take care of. He’s not that guy, but he’s kind of similar.
We are all just walking around in a state of autopilot. We are aware that we are walking around, but not in an organized way. In order to be able to take any kind of action, we need to organize our actions in relation to our goals and to each other. Without that, we are just wandering around in a state of autopilot. That’s why we need to practice meditation.
As an introvert, I’m often very aware of my emotions, but I’m not always aware of my thoughts, my goals. When I feel overwhelmed, I often feel like throwing up. When I’m angry, I just don’t get why I’m angry. I have a hard time visualizing my goal if I don’t have a goal. If I don’t have a goal, I don’t know where to begin. This is why I feel like I need to meditate.
joshua has a hard time relating to people because he is a very shy person. This is partly why he likes to stay away from people, but also because he is one of those people who needs to be around people. To be part of the community of people who really value relationships, he is going to have to work on developing his social skills.
