I am not going to lie. You may be surprised to learn that I am a big advocate of auto insurance. My family does not have any. It has been a struggle throughout the years because my older brother does not have his insurance and his parents do not want me to even know that they are paying for it.
But we should be concerned because there are a number of reasons you should be worried about auto insurance. First of all, it is extremely expensive. The average premium for a family of four is over $4,000 a year. For my family it is more like $2,000. If you do not have enough money saved up to cover your family’s expenses, you will be responsible for paying the entire premium.
We have had some nasty experiences with this, the most recent being when my father refused to sign a paper that would have required him to have his car repaired if it wasn’t fixed. After we found out about the repair charge, we were told he was going to have to pay around $12,000 to fix it. The insurance company did not make it clear if the repair cost was for the car itself or for the repair of the car damage.
This is a common practice for car insurance companies. They claim it’s because of the cost of repairs, but that it’s also not covered under the policy. There’s also a chance your car is more than 40 years old and you can’t afford to pay the premium on top of the cost of repair. (And don’t try to sue the insurance company; they’ll just laugh you out of court.
You can buy some cheap but surefire insurance to cover the cost of repairs, but if you buy it on top of your car being a total wreck, the insurance company will refuse to cover it. This is because they can claim its because of the car being a total wreck. And why would they care if you are, because you are not. Just because its more expensive DOES NOT mean its a total wreck.
I had a friend who went to a doctor for an injury he suffered in a car accident. The insurance company told him he had to pay for the injury, and the insurance company refused to cover it. He sued and won. Now he is suing the insurance company for being unfair to him. I think that is a great idea.
Well, if you’re paying for something that was caused by you, it’s probably a good idea to pay for it. But if you’re in a wreck, you’re probably not willing to pay for what actually happened. Maybe you want to know what the hell happened to you? How much damage did you do to your car? We all want to know that, but it can’t be done.
The same goes with getting insurance for any injuries. Well, except for a few things. For example, most injuries are not covered. There are two main reasons for this. First, some injuries are too severe to be covered. For example, being stuck in your car for hours without any water to drink is not covered here. Second, some really bad injuries are not covered.
