I don’t think your pet gate is a good idea because you can’t see into your yard. I’ve never had a dog who likes to jump on the front door, but I think my dog would like it. You should give your pet a “no trespassing” sign, but you can always use a gate. I also don’t think the gate is a good idea because pets don’t like to jump on gates.
In case you haven’t figured it out by now, the people who are in charge of my yard are not here to inspect my yard for any other reason than my dog jumping on it. That’s because they actually live there. My neighbor is one of the gate inspectors.
The other thing I think is a little strange is that the gate is made of wood. As I understand it, wooden gates are more difficult to break through than iron gates. It doesn’t make sense though.

The dog gates I mention are ones that I made for my dog, because I thought it would be too much of a hassle to always worry about the gate in the middle of the yard. They are now very rarely used because my dog just jumps on them whenever she sees them coming, and then I have to cover it up and put it in a box. I guess the idea is that the dog will jump on the other side of the gate too.
My dog has the gate on the opposite side of my house, so she can jump over it and not have to worry about it. But if she jumps over it, then she can also jump over it and not have to worry about the gate.
