When I was younger, I used to be hesitant about letting my dogs lick my ice melt. I would hold up a spoon and have them lick it off of my hands, but I was quickly learning that their tongues were much more potent than I realized. The best part about pet-friendly ice melt is that it’s vegan. But seriously, I’ve been using the thing for a couple of months and it’s already turning into a favorite thing to eat. The special flavor is made from a powdered form of my favorite plant-based superfood called guaraná.
Guaraná is a plant-based super food that is highly nutritious. It contains antioxidants and minerals, and is also a good source of protein and fiber. Thats why many vegans have been using guaraná to make ice melts. It is so easy to prepare, you can make it in little batches and have it ready to eat in just a few minutes.
The thing about guaraná ice melts is that it melts in the microwave. The key is soaking the ice in a mixture of water and guaraná, then covering it with a plate, and microwaving it for five minutes. Although guaraná ice melts are a good idea, as you can see, this seems more like something that would be recommended to vegetarians than one of those “gourmand” ice melts that we sometimes get. Pet lovers rejoice! There are a couple of other varieties out there, but the one I have in mind is an ice melt with no ingredients. I like the fact that it’s ice, but not too sweet.
