My first impression of a new pet store was that they were ugly. I had been visiting them for years, but only ever found one that was truly bad. The other was much less so, but still not good. After I had spent a week of my life in Petco, I knew that my experience was not going to be an accurate representation of Petco as a whole.
It is true that pet stores are often, well, pet-like. There are a lot of places where you can find a dog, cat, or even a rabbit in a much more appealing form. But because your first reaction is usually to ask if this is going to be a pet store, it’s easy to get carried away with the concept and lose sight of what is actually wrong with them.
Pet stores often have way more than one of these problems. They tend to be too busy with too many people in the store, and too many customers ask to shop there too quickly. They are also often packed with people who have too much time to play with their dogs. They tend to be packed with toys that are too tempting to leave in the cart, and toys that are not allowed in the store.
The thing about pet stores is that they are often filled with toys of the type that are not allowed in the store. This is because pets are not allowed in the store, but this is not the only problem. The problem is that the majority of pet stores are not properly licensed to sell these types of toys, and therefore don’t carry them. This is a HUGE problem because it is very easy to get a dog or cat who is just not that big a deal.
Another major problem is that pet stores can sell toys of a type that are dangerous to children (such as guns and toy guns). These toys are often not licensed. In fact, the only way that your child can buy these types of toys is to go to a gun store, and they may even be legally restricted. So, in the majority of cases, your child will be unable to get these types of toys.
The answer you see for pet stores is “oh, we don’t sell them.” That doesn’t answer the question of which pet store sells toys that are dangerous to children, and why. I suppose you could always take the easy option and say that pet stores don’t sell these toys because they’re not allowed to sell them. But that’s not correct either.
Pets are not allowed in certain gun stores in the US. The reason for that is that pet stores have to register their employees with the Food and Drug Administration to sell products that contain pet products. It can get pretty tricky if your pet store does not wish to sell you these types of toys.
But it’s not just pet stores that have a hard time with this. Here in the UK, a pet store owner was arrested after a child was bitten by a dog at a pet shop in Kent. A police spokesman said that the incident was “very distressing” and “not something you want to see happening again”.
The owner of the pet shop where the child was bitten is currently being investigated. The store said they were concerned because the dog owner was not licensed to sell dogs. This is not normal behavior for pet shops. The store’s owner, a 34-year-old man, has been removed from his duties and is facing charges including animal cruelty and neglect.
Pet shops tend to be the safest places for animals. They make people feel comfortable, they’re a great place for people of all ages to shop, and there’s a good chance the owner is a responsible animal lover. But the truth is, if you’re walking into a pet shop and find a dog with a broken leg, you’re probably not going to walk out happy.
