I’ve been to both the boston college campus and the georgia tech campus. I know there are a lot of arguments on both sides of the fence, but the key to this is that the boston college campus is all about the arts. The georgia tech campus is all about the technology. The two campuses are each different in that they have different strengths and weaknesses.
This isn’t the first time Ive been to college but it is my first time seeing this much of a difference in the architecture between the two campuses. The boston college campus is so much more intimate. Its buildings are smaller and more intimate. It is definitely a smaller and more intimate campus. The georgia tech campus is much more wide open, and has buildings that are much more spread out.
While the boston college campus has rooms of similar proportions, the new boston campus buildings all have room for more than just offices. Most of the new buildings are very large and include dorms, student housing, even a few conference rooms. Georgia tech campus on the other hand, has a lot of smaller, more intimate buildings that are just dorms with a few student rooms.
That said, this new georgia tech campus is much more intimate, and much more spread out. Whereas the boston college campus is mostly a lot of offices, with the dorms having a few more student rooms and the student housing being more like dorms. And it’s still a lot more spread out, since there are a lot of offices in boston college, and still a lot of dorms in georgia tech.
If you are looking for an example of dorm-y design with a lot of small rooms, there is a new residence hall at boston college which is just like a dorm, and even has a few rooms for students that are in residence. The dorms are smaller, but the design is still conducive to having a lot of small rooms.
