The fastal is a traditional Italian dessert made with ricotta cheese, sugar, and flour dusted with almonds and cinnamon.
A recipe is definitely worth a read, but it should have been written in Italian.
The key here is that I’m not talking about the recipe, but the recipes that are put together by the developers.
In my opinion, the most interesting thing about fastal, the recipe, the flavor notes, etc., are the bits of information a person put into the recipe and the instructions given to the cook. For instance, I’ve made these recipes in the past and the directions given were a bit cryptic, but I was able to figure out how to make it.
For example, I made the recipe for the sweet potato tartlets that I’m going to share with you. The directions included a little bit of information on what ingredients I needed to put into the pan, but my main question was what did I need to put in the pan? I needed to use a stick of butter and I also needed to use flour and I didn’t know what that meant. I’m a good cook, but I’m not a math genius.
The first thing I did to the ingredients that became the sweet potato tartlets was “pig.” I started with the ingredients that were “just” potato and then I added the ingredients that I needed to make the tartlets, but I never figured out what to use them for. After I figured out how to set the ingredients up I knew that I had to include some flour and some sugar in the recipe.
Once you start to cook, you can’t stop. You can’t stop the first time you pour oil into the pan, you can’t stop when you take the sweet potato out of the oven, and you can’t stop every time you make a tartlet. You can’t stop and think about it and you’ll never figure it out. But if you keep learning, you can keep improving your skills until you achieve that elusive, magical level of perfection.
It’s true that there are days when you have to stop and think about things, but there are also days when you just have to pour the oil and start putting stuff in. If you have a lot of free time and have the time to think, that’s definitely a good thing. But if you have to get up and go out and do something, that’s not so good.
As you get better at anything, you do get better at it even if you’re not really thinking about it. But as you get better, you also start to see patterns, and that’s when you start to make some predictions. We all do it, we all start to see patterns, and then we start to get better at it. We all need to start doing it to get better.
