I work at Wake Tech as an IT Systems Support Engineer. I love my job! I work long and hard, am always learning something new and excited to see what the future holds. However, I also love my student body and professors. I’ve had my fair share of fun with the students, and it’s not hard to see how my work and studies have impacted my life.
I always joke that I worked a job I loved so much that I was too lazy to get up early to get home before my family, so I could have a nice lazy day watching tv, drinking coffee, and going to class. I’d like to think that I’m a bit of a free spirit by nature. But I’d also like to believe that I’m not.
In my case, at least, I am. I still work a job I absolutely love, but I also enjoy the day to day. I work in a building where my work is usually kept private and rarely made public until it is absolutely necessary. In my current job I can’t imagine my life without my students.
I have to say that my professor, Dr. John, is one of the best professors I have ever had. He has an extremely low stress environment. He is a master of the art of being calm when things are going well and tense when things are going wrong. You cant help but feel like Im in the presence of one of the most calm, collected people I have ever met, and Im sure he relishes this role.
When I read or hear people say that they are excited to take over the world, it always makes me wonder if they really mean it. People are excited about their jobs, their family, their friends, their hobbies, and their hobbies are all things that come and go. The real excitement comes from getting paid to work hard and being able to say you did a great job, so now you can say you did a great job, too.
I’ve heard this one before, but I still want to hear it again. What are people excited about? It seems the average person is excited about so many things that it’s hard to remember what they are excited about. In fact, I doubt I know anyone who is excited about anything. You’d be surprised at the things that people do actually enjoy.
I remember when everyone got excited about this class. Back in the day when I was in the 8th grade, it was the most popular class in school. Everyone had their own opinion on what the professor was teaching, and I remember it was all over the place. Some people couldn’t wait to get their grades, and others thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. They all had their own favorite way to get their grades.
Well, in case you were wondering, the professor was definitely the best professor ever. His approach to teaching was to work on us, and he did a great job. I remember taking the class, and I was amazed when he asked us to complete a paper. I think he was like 9th grade, and I remember thinking he was going to be the class clown. I don’t remember what I did with my paper, but I know I loved taking the class.
My professor was always a little eccentric, and in a good way. He was an American expat, and he had an obsession with the Beatles, so he was a Beatles fan. He had a great interest in music, and I think he would have been a great singer and drummer in many bands. He was funny, and he had a great sense of humor.
My professor was a British-Canadian mathematician who used to live in Australia. He was great, and I loved him. I remember one thing that he said, because it really stuck with me: “The reason we’re all here is to learn.” He was very humble.
