Over the summer, I’ve seen many baseball players tweet about their favorite teams, or even their favorite players. Some players tweet about their favorite pitcher, or their favorite players. To me, it is amazing that the same players, or their teams, are posting these things about themselves. They are sharing not just their thoughts, but their actions and emotions.
The fact is that the way these tweets are getting spread is through social media. Everyone is able to share a tweet about their favorite player or team in one way or another. The problem is that not many people are participating in this. Many fans are just posting these tweets on their own sites, or using the same social networking sites that the teams are using. It’s the same reason most fans try to post the same things about the team’s rival.
In texas tech baseball, players are fans, and the teams they root for are fans, too. The players and fan bases are not necessarily even aware of each other. Its the way that fans are able to communicate with each other, the way fans interact with each other in the game. When a fan gets a good tweet they tend to retweet it or message it to their friends. Its the same reason you can get a fan to send you a retweet of a tweet you sent them.
So texas tech baseball is a new concept. Fans are fans and the teams they root for are also fans. The players are fans, too, even if fans don’t know they are. But with all of this fan behavior, you’d think texas tech baseball would be boring, but it’s actually quite different.
I think that fan interaction is a really cool and unique way to build community. Fans tend to like a team because they feel part of that team and they tend to like a player for different reasons. I think that fan interaction is a great way to build a relationship and a sense of community that is both fun and supportive.
Fans are a great way to build community. And it isn’t just the teams. For instance, I have been following the baseball team Texas Tech since it was a new team and it still has a great feel to it. I like the way that they play, I like the players, their uniforms are pretty cool. But it isn’t just that, I like the way that the team has grown up over the years.
In the past, I would have never been a fan of the Texas Tech baseball team. I know I would have never liked the school itself, but I am glad to see the team grow and develop. There has been so much change in the past few years, it is amazing to see how fast a team that was formed in 2005 is now a force in its own right.
Tech baseball is a great example of how our small state can create great teams. It took a lot of work to get this team started. In the past, I would just say the team was pretty good and that there were some good players, then go back and say, “Well, if you would have joined that team, you would have made it to the AA level.” But Tech baseball has grown and developed, and has been very competitive in the past few years.

I am still impressed by their team, and I wish they would have gotten the national coverage that they had when they played their way into the College World Series in 2009.
Tech baseball is an interesting case study because it’s so local. The school itself has no connection to the sport (except by chance a good friend that happened to be there has a softball team), and doesn’t have a team at all. That means that the players just focus on getting good at their own game. With the right coaching and support, it’s also possible to grow a team.
